Diabetes Mellitus

Adult human stem cells initiate regeneration of lost Pancreas beta cells leading to insulin production again. Adult stem cell therapy modulates immunity thereby assuaging autoimmunity in type 1 Diabetes. Adult stem cell therapy also makes the body cells more responsive to insulin in type 2.

To restore β-cell function, Adult Stem Cell Therapy can be applied. Stem cells are the cells that are able to renew themselves through the process of cell division and to differentiate into multi-lineage cells.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a condition where high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) is caused by islet β-cell function deficiency (type 1) with consequent inadequate insulin secretion and/ or the context of insulin resistance (type 2). The prevalence of DM is rising throughout the world.

Type 1 DM is caused by an autoimmune response to the β-cells which are responsible for insulin release in the pancreas. The disease has two phases. The first phase is insulitis, where the islet cells are destroyed by a mixed population of leukocytes. The second phase is diabetes, when most β-cells have been injured. There is no longer adequate insulin production to control blood glucose levels, resulting in hyperglycemia.

Type 2 DM consists of two main problems: the insufficient production of insulin from the pancreas and the resistance of body cells to normal or even high levels of insulin.

To restore pancreatic β-cell function, Adult Stem Cell Therapy can be applied, and they work by an effect called the “paracrine” effect where they signal the damaged Pancreas β-Islet cells to regenerate themselves, hence healing and renewal of insulin production.

The usual job of joint cartilage is to promote smooth movement of joint surfaces and protect bones from friction. This process allows for shock absorption of up to 20 times the weight of the body. It’s essential to physical movement, especially in athletics.

Osteoarthritis is one of the most common chronic degenerative disorders and it very often affects the knee, causing deterioration of its joint cartilage over time.

Osteoarthritis can also begin as a result of a knee injury, such as a ligament tear, tendon damage, or a fracture.

Other joint pains arise from:

In the face of damage, the joint becomes unstable and this wears down the articular cartilage. The bone can suffer damage as well, in addition to the synovial joint lining, tendons, ligaments, and muscles.

Adult Stem Cell Therapy and/or Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy for knees is minimally invasive. It’s a procedure that can decrease inflammation, slow and repair all these forms of damage from arthritis, and delay or prevent knee replacement surgery.

Musculoskeletal Pain

Reduction of pain, significantly. Promotion of gradual regeneration of joint cartilage. Modulation of immunity in the case of autoimmune disease e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Stroke

Adult human stem cell therapy reverses death process of brain cells if given within the acute (very early) phase and promotes multiplication of healthy brain cells to replace the dead brain cells.
